Saturday February 18th 10-1PM
February 21st from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Come meet native Quad Citizen Amy Nielsen and watch as she works on one of her pieces. She mixes the qualities of gold leaf embellishments with watercolor, traditional pen and ink, and calligraphic brushes to produce unique works having a distinct signature. Amy started her career with Hallmark Cards and has used that experience to incorporate tight illustrations with precise calligraphy and a sense of natural illumination. She is inspired by nature and by the words used by all of us as we express our feelings and our frustrations. Supported by the Friends of the Bettendorf Library
Amy Nielsen will be working on a Calligraphic Broadside for Dr. Peter Crocker. Brush Writing, Calligraphy, and Decoration or Illumination of the piece will be demonstrated as Amy designs this piece right before your eyes. Be careful though. Usually when you walk in her area she will make you try whatever she’s doing!
